Antique and vintage jewellery is, by its nature, more delicate than new jewellery. The pieces we sell are not new and will all show some signs of wear, please bear this in mind before purchase. Do note we only sell items that we believe to have a long life of wear left, but being up to 300 years old, they sometimes require a little extra care to ensure this.

Should you require any information regarding the care of your jewellery, please do message us and we will be happy to help. As a general rule, any stones in closed back settings should not get wet. Whilst ultrasonic cleaners are useful for cleaning solid gold, lots of porous gemstones can be damaged by them, so please avoid unless you are sure they are appropriate for what you are cleaning.

We check every piece with the upmost care and attention before listing, undertaking light cleaning and making any necessary repairs to get things up to scratch. Antique Gold develops a beautiful patina over its lifetime, which we will not polish off, unless specifically requested after purchase and can be done prior to posting.

We take detailed photographs and note in the item descriptions, any details of wear and/or damage. We will also always disclose any work on a piece undertaken by us. Please look at the listings carefully, photographs form part of the condition description so please do examine them. Do feel free to ask us any questions before purchase if you are unsure of anything.

We are happy to send more photographs and videos if you would like. Photographs are taken in natural lighting and show fine detail by using a macro, magnifying lens so please check the dimensions of a piece in the listing. For these reasons pieces are sold as seen, with no future guarantees of integrity.
