Antique 9 carat gold signet ring

This is a fine, antique 9 carat rose toned yellow gold signet ring with a rounded squared panel and beautiful shaped shoulders. It is a substantial ring with a generous use of gold, weighing 4.1 grams.
 
The shoulders have a lovely engraved chanel line design with a solid top panel that could be engraved if wanted, and the ring is suitable for men and ladies.
 
It is fully hallmarked for London assay office, 9 carat gold and there is no evidence of a resize. The hallmark is clear and reads E.G for makers mark, the leopard for London assay office, 9 375 for 9 carat gold and date letter C for 1918.
 
The head of the ring with the shield measures 11 x 10mm and tapers to 2mm at the rear of the ring and the shoulders measure 4 mm in width.
