  • Antique Edwardian sardonyx signet ring 18 carat gold

    Era: Edwardian 1901-1909

Metal: 18 carat gold, hallmarked EV maker, crown 18, Chester assay, C 1903

    Gemstone: Sardonyx hard stone 11x9mm

    Weight: 4.6 grams

    Size: UK N.75 US 7 EU 54

This is a fine, Edwardian, 18 carat gold signet ring with an oval lavender sardonyx gemstone, held in a detailed setting. It is a substantial ring with a generous use of gold, weighing just over 4.6 grams.

The sardonyx measures 11mm by 9mm in size, sits 3mm above the finger when worn and tapers to a substantial 3mm curved band at the rear of the ring.

The sardonyx changes colour depending on the light, from a lavender tone through to a dusky blue/pink shade, and the ring is open backed.

The condition is excellent with very little wear for a ring of this age. The sardonyx is also in very good condition, with only very minor surface marks and minute nibbles to the stone edges when inspected with a x10 loupe.
