A beautiful 5 stone natural pearl and yellow gold Victorianhalf hoop ring. This beautiful ring has five slightly graduated natural pearls with a lovely cream lustre to them, held in a well made band of gold. This is an early ring, not marked at all, and our goldsmith has confirmed the gold as high carat at 18 carat plus.
In our opinion the ring compares to early Victorian era designs sitting somewhere around the 1840-1860 period.
The pearls really are stunning, and the condition is excellent with no damage to the surfaces. They are larger and impressive pearls sized at 6x5mm centre pearl and graduated outwards. The pearls are held in a colett setting with beautiful detailed scroll bridge and shoulders, a closed back and a substantial band.
The head of the ring measures 23x9mm and sits 5mm high, tapering to 1.5mm at the back. The rich colour of the gold sets the pearls off beautifully as they are framed in their setting, and the ring weighs a heavy 3.3 grams.
The ring is a size UK L.5, USA 5.75 and EU 51, although this could be sized if needed by your local jeweller. Please remember that rings that have been altered cannot be returned.
