A wonderful early Georgian posy ring, crafted in 22ct Gold. The band measures 3mm wide and is inscribed inside with the words 'tak this in part of a true heart'
Posy rings were often given as gifts between lovers or friends and were used as wedding bands or betrothal rings. They carried secret sentiments to be worn next to the skin, to make the words feel more poignant. From the style of the script in this band and the old english wording used, we would date this to the early to mid 1700's.
