Antique Victorian ribbed oval gold locket 9 carat gold

This is a beautiful, ribbed and engraved antique 9 carat yellow gold and glass picture locket. It contains a portrait photograph of a handsome young Victorian gentleman along with a gorgeous plaited lock of brown hair could be removed if you wish.
 
These are set behind the original glass and gold retainer sections as the locket is fairly deep. The locket is confirmed as 9 carat gold and dates from the design and the photographs to the Victorian era around 1880.
 
It measures 21mm by 17mm and the drop including the bale is 25mm. It weighs a total of 4.6 grams and is absolutely stunning. The locket is beautifully decorated with engraving and ribbed or grooved vertical patterns on both the front and back.
To the rear it is engraved in very tiny letters A.T.
