Wonderful rose cut diamonds are set in these rare antique gold dormeuse earrings. Just the right size for everyday wear. Dating to the mid 1800's they have lever back, front closing fittings. This makes them easy to put in and take out.
 
The settings are open backed 8 claw buttercup design with a border of black enamel. The diamonds have a great deal of character and are oval but slightly irregular as hand cut. Such an iconic classic which do not become available very often, these are in excellent antique condition.
