Antique Victorian sapphire rose cut diamond navette ring 18 carat gold
A dainty and eye catching Victorian antique rose cut diamond and sapphire18 carat gold navette shape ring. The head of the ring holds 16 sparkly old rose cut diamonds in claw settings.
The diamonds measure approximately 1.5mm-2mm each, with the centre sapphire being larger at 4x3mm The diamonds are well matched and lively, in good condition, a good bright colour and good clarity.
Rose cut diamonds have a long history dating back to the 16th century, and are cut to resemble a rose in bud, reaching a point rather than a flat surface like a modern cut diamond. The navette design has an open ornate side gallery with an engraved shoulder design, and the diamond head measures 14mm by 8mm giving good finger coverage. She sits quite flush to the finger at 3.5mm deep.
It is quite a substantial ring at a weight of 3.5 grams and would make a lovely vintage engagement or statement dress ring if you love this era.
There is some slight wear seen to the sapphire surface with a x10 eye glass, normal for the age of the ring and not obvious to the naked eye.
She measures a size UK P, USA 71/2 and EU 56, although this could be sized to fit you by your local jeweller. Please remember that rings that have been resized cannot be returned to us. This gorgeous ring will be sent with our luxury branded packaging and detailed care card, and will be sent by Special Delivery or International Signed for service. Stock no 585
