We have here a stunning wide Victorian aesthetic period sterling silver floral bangle cuff, with a lovely foliate design of ivy leaves. The aesthetic movement was a throwback to the mechanisation from the industrial revolution, and craftspeople responded by handmaking wonderful items again including silverwork such as this bangle.
It is a substantial bangle and very much of its time, weighs a total of 29.3 grams and has internal width of 55mm by 48mm. The bangle is 25mm wide.
There is a full hallmark with the makers mark, Birmingham assay office, lion passant for sterling silver and date letter I for 1883. The bangle is a cuff design, of solid single skin construction rather that the hollow designs of later periods.
The bangle is in its original condition and fastens firmly with a push in clip clasp. The condition is good antique, with the engraving still crisp, a degree of patina commensurate with age and some wear marks and light scuffs to the rear of the bangle seen in the photographs.
A lovely present or buy it for yourself, and we will post it with Special Delivery, signed for or International signed for postal service, and in our luxury packaging with care card and full details.
