Antique Victorian star set diamond oval blue enamel ring 9ct gold

A stunning heavy rose cut diamond and enamel ring with a substantial wide gold band. Beautifully made, the diamond catches the light and is set in a yellow gold edged star which is a contrast to the blue enamel. Please be aware it fits more like a size P, due to the width of the ring.
 
With a low profile, the ring is in very good antique condition with only minor wear and very slight enamel loss. The enamel panel may have started life with another purpose and I suspect the setting and ring shank were created to convert it to a ring in antiquity.
