A beautiful emerald five stone half hoop ring in 18 carat gold ring. This gorgeous ring has a fully engraved band, hallmarked for 1900 and is set with five Emeralds with a natural variation in colour and due to the closed backs and foiling.
The head of the ring is likely older than the hallmarked shank and I think they have been married together (very well might I add, there is little to no evidence)
I expect the Emeralds and settings date C.1840 on the cusp between Georgian and Victorian eras.
The Emeralds are in very good antique condition, with just very minor surface wear that can be seen on inspection with a loupe.
The head of the ring holds the gemstones in crimped collet closed back settings and the band is beautifully engraved with a foliate design.
