A stunning ring with an interesting octagonal shaped head measuring 11mm across. The central turquoise is encircled by 12 Pearls, which are all original, except for two that blend in very well. They are held in crimped collet settings and the surrounding black enamel is in good condition. The head of the ring is closed back with trifurcated shoulders and a triple reeded band.
The inscription beneath the head reads Sarah Smith 25th June 1803 age 58.
A lovely example of a Georgian era mourning ring.
