We have taken a phenomenal, large oval cabochon opal from a 1940's brooch and paired it with a late Victorian era old cushion cut Diamond. Both gemstones are held in their original 9 carat Gold settings, the Opal is bezel set and the Diamond is held in a claw setting. 
 
The Opal shows a beautiful play of colour, with vibrant flashes of green, blue and purple and an orange glow from within.
 
We have added a chunky bail(3x5mm) to give it balance and make it comfortable to wear, allowing for a good sized chain to support the pendant. 
 
The Opal is in excellent vintage condition, with no signs of wear to the surface and free from chips/scratches. The Diamond is incredibly bright and lively, there are a couple of visible characterful spots of carbon, but nothing that detracts from its beauty when worn.
