A stunning vintage sapphire and two brilliant cut diamonds are the centrepiece of this eye catching ring. Such a quality ring, that has been checked by our goldsmith, the gold confirmed as 18 carat and the gemstones as natural sapphire and diamonds.
 
There is a full UK hallmark of W&M makers mark, crown 18 for 18 carat gold, Birmingham Assay office and date letter O for 1963. The central square cut sapphire measures 3.7mm in size and is held in a platinum claw setting, with the two brilliant cut 2mm diamonds in star settings. I estimate the weight of the sapphire to be 0.45 carats and the diamonds a total of .13 carats, but please remember as they are measured in the setting this is approximate.
 
The sapphire is excellent quality and a deep blue colour with green overtones. The diamonds are well matched, eye clean, bright and lively. The head of the ring measures 9mm by 4.5mm and sits 5mm above the finger when worn.
 
Weighing in at 2.6 grams and could be either a gift for a September birthday, or a stunning engagement ring for vintage lovers.
